Kelsey and Jason Married

Jason and Kelsey’s wedding the Detroit Metro area was a lot of fun to shoot. Kelsey has been finishing law school and taking boards so we actually have been in touch for quite awhile as they planned their wedding. It has been great to get to know both of them and then finally shoot their wedding. There were many meaningful touching such as Kelsey’s mom’s wedding dress being sewn into hers, pearls from the Philippines worn by the bridal party and as favors and sweet photo charms on Kelsey’s bouquet. The wedding was at the quaint St. Hugo of the Hills Stone Chapel in Bloomfield Hills, MI and the reception was at the Auburn Hills Marriott.

Molly-Three Days Old

It was great to meet little Molly last week. At only three days old, she was making eye contact with the camera and even attempted to lift her head up once! Macen fit the role of big brother very well as he’s suddenly (or at least it seems to me) very verbal and independent. We’ve known the White’s for years, but they’ve recently (just over a year ago) moved back to Holland from the Denver area. We’ve enjoyed having them around and watching their family grow. Jenny started a great business here in West Michigan called Mom’s In Tow which provides moms and expecting moms a way to find great discounts at local businesses (such as Walcott Imaging–wink!), meet others for social events, and attend healthy and educational activities in West Michigan. Brad is a professional cyclist and a really good one at that. Congratulations to the White’s on growing from three to four and welcome to Molly!

Mike and Meg Engaged

We had a great time meeting Michael and Meagen in the midst of their stomping grounds for an engagement session in late June. We started at their house in East Grand Rapids, then hit up some of their favorite spots around town including Yesterdog and Founders Brewery.

They’re getting married this weekend and we can’t wait to see the style in which they pull it off. I’ve heard a few snippets here and there and it sounds like it’s going to be fun, cool and meaningful. Rob and I are really looking forward to it!

Lindsay – HCHS

Lindsay from Holland Christian stopped in for some downtown Holland photos as well as two studio sessions for her senior pictures. We quickly realized that with all of her smiles, there was no need to spend a lot of time on the serious poses! I hope Lindsay never runs out of smiles.

Nora and Drew Wedding Photography

Nora and Drew got married in mid July with their ceremony in Holland at Central Ave Christian Reformed Church and their reception at the Colonial Clock Building in Zeeland. We’ve never shot at the Colonial Clock Building for a wedding and I guess they don’t host weddings there often, but the spaces were great and seemed like they were made for it. There was a lot of room to move around and historical building remnants to look at, as well as nice lighting (appreciated especially on the photography end).

Nora and Drew had a good time in mind as they brought in our photobooth, had milk and cookies for dessert, hosted a rockin dance party and pulled in the “Weenie Wagon” for a late night snack. Congratulations, Nora and Drew! All the best to you two!

Bryant and Amanda Engagement Photography

Rob and I shot Amanda and Bryant’s engagement pictures last week on a beautiful, non-humid but very windy morning. I love shooting downtown between 7-8:30am as there are not many cars or people around and the light is bouncing all over the place making new photo “spots” compared to evening shooting–so fun!

Amanda is a photographer and we’re flattered that they have chosen us to shoot their wedding next summer. It was great to spend time with you both…cheers!
