Bryant and Amanda Engagement Photography

Rob and I shot Amanda and Bryant’s engagement pictures last week on a beautiful, non-humid but very windy morning. I love shooting downtown between 7-8:30am as there are not many cars or people around and the light is bouncing all over the place making new photo “spots” compared to evening shooting–so fun!

Amanda is a photographer and we’re flattered that they have chosen us to shoot their wedding next summer. It was great to spend time with you both…cheers!

Eli-Newborn Session

This session is from the beginning of the summer, but I didn’t get a chance to blog it until now. Eli lives in our house, so we’ve had the chance to watch him grow giving me a new perspective on what these newborn pictures mean. Time goes by and the little one’s change so quickly. I so enjoy being able to document the steps giving connections to times that have passed. eli's newborn photography session

Cara and Michael–Party on the Farm

Cara and Michael’s wedding in mid-June was a dream to shoot! The details were stunning and meaningful, the styling was interesting, but also very much “them”, the locations were quaint and rustic, but also personal, and there was a lot of fun events and guests. The farm where we took the portraits and where the reception was held is Cara’s family farm home in Holland near Overisel (just down the road from Dykhuis Farms). The reception consisted of homemade individual pies, a DJ and line dancing caller (locals may know the infamous Pam Volkers from Tulip Time’s Dutch Dancing), sparklers and fireworks. It was a very fun and memorable day. Belated congratulations to Cara and Michael! We wish you all the best! cara and michael wedding portraitscara and michael wedding photographycara and michael bridal party and wedding ceremony photographycar and michael wedding reception photographycara and michael wedding party photography

Otto-Baby Session

My cousin and her husband were in town from Baltimore in June for a visit and to introduce Steven Otto to the family. He goes by Otto which was the name of our late Grandpa who was a great guy and cowboy to the core. I love having an Otto back in the family!

This session was pretty quick in the midst of hanging out on the porch. Otto did really well throwing flirty smiles and cute poses my way the whole time.

Mark and Lindsay Boating Session

Mark and Lindsay got married this past April. They had a beautiful wedding including really amazing homemade details on one of those uncharacteristically blustery days in late April. As warm weather and boat lovers, Mark and Lindsay scheduled a post-wedding portrait session to add a little variety and warmth to their set of photo’s. We braved and balanced on four foot waves all backed by a big rosy sky. I love shooting when things are happening (as opposed to being the one making things happen) and there was definitely a lot going on during this session! Thanks for taking me along for the ride!
