Nora and Drew Wedding Photography

Nora and Drew got married in mid July with their ceremony in Holland at Central Ave Christian Reformed Church and their reception at the Colonial Clock Building in Zeeland. We’ve never shot at the Colonial Clock Building for a wedding and I guess they don’t host weddings there often, but the spaces were great and seemed like they were made for it. There was a lot of room to move around and historical building remnants to look at, as well as nice lighting (appreciated especially on the photography end).

Nora and Drew had a good time in mind as they brought in our photobooth, had milk and cookies for dessert, hosted a rockin dance party and pulled in the “Weenie Wagon” for a late night snack. Congratulations, Nora and Drew! All the best to you two!

Cara and Michael–Party on the Farm

Cara and Michael’s wedding in mid-June was a dream to shoot! The details were stunning and meaningful, the styling was interesting, but also very much “them”, the locations were quaint and rustic, but also personal, and there was a lot of fun events and guests. The farm where we took the portraits and where the reception was held is Cara’s family farm home in Holland near Overisel (just down the road from Dykhuis Farms). The reception consisted of homemade individual pies, a DJ and line dancing caller (locals may know the infamous Pam Volkers from Tulip Time’s Dutch Dancing), sparklers and fireworks. It was a very fun and memorable day. Belated congratulations to Cara and Michael! Mark and Heather-Married!

Congratulations Mark and Heather! They were married on Friday, July 8 at Moran Park Church with a bike ride over to Mid-Town Center just blocks away in Holland, MI. The wedding was really beautiful and Rob and I appreciated Mark and Heather’s readiness to have fun and go with the flow. All the best to you guys!

Mark & Lindsay-Wedding Photography

Mark and Lindsay met at Lakeshore Habitat for Humanity, so it was very fitting that much of the decor used for the ceremony and reception came from the Habitat for Humanity Restore and reinvented through lots of hard work and creativity. Their honeymoon wove together leading a team of nine individuals to Zambia representing Lakeshore Habitat for Humanity and working with the Local Habitat for Humanity Affiliate and spending a little bit of time on their own at the end of the trip.

Congratulations Mark and Lindsay on your beautiful wedding and your new marriage!

Day After Sessions

I have noticed “Day After Sessions” popping up here and there and I really love the idea! Rob and I feel strongly that the wedding day should revolve around the bride and groom and all of the people who have come to celebrate with them. We carefully tread the line of stealing them away to take photo’s and documenting what is REALLY HAPPENING!

The “Day After Session” allows for time and a relaxed mood for a full portrait session in without cutting into the events of the wedding day. The one’s we have done up until now did not take place the day after (usually within the next month) and have been very successful and fun! Some couples opt to use their engagement sessions after the wedding based on scheduling conflicts or just preference.
